Join the movement

to protect our children

Join us for a free, two-hour Stewards of Children training and you'll learn how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.

One in ten children will suffer sexual abuse by age 18. So whether you're a parent or someone who works with youth, chances are a child you know and care about is affected.

Our vision: Make Wilkes County the safest place for children in North Carolina.

Our goal: Train 5% of the adult population in Stewards of Children over the next five years.

We want to make child protection and abuse prevention second nature in Wilkes County.

Won't you help us make it happen?

Stewards of Children is...

Compelling

Stewards of Children uses real people and real stories to show you how to protect children. You'll meet survivors who lived through child sexual abuse and ultimately were able to find healing.

Motivational

You'll discuss child safety issues with other participants, and develop a personal plan to implement what you’ve learned in class. You'll leave with the desire and ability to make change happen.

Effective

Stewards of Children works! It's recognized as a model program by the federal Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
